My name is Tianfeng Hou and I joined RIKEN prediction science laboratory in November 2020. I finished my PhD in September 2020 with a title ’Efficient Probabilistic Assessment of Hygrothermal Performance: sequential Monte Carlo and decomposition methods’. I am very enthusiastic about the use of mathematics to solve different engineering problems. My current research work focuses on the use of quasi-Monte Carlo and model order reduction methods to improve the efficiency of uncertainty quantification of complex systems. Complementarily, I am also interested in the use data assimilation to accurately predict what will happen in the near future.
