The 11th Prediction Science Seminar was held on September 16th, 2022 (Friday) 15:00-16:30 (JST) and was delivered by Dr. Edoardo Bertone. Dr. Edoardo Bertone is a senior lecturer at the School of Engineering & Built Environment, and a member of Cities Research Institute and Australian Rivers Institute, Griffith University. In this seminar, Dr. Bertone outlined a number of his modeling projects on how to use data-driven methods to improve the monitoring and treatment of water resources, and described how water utilities of the future could harness the value of big data and machine learning. After the seminar, Dr. Bertone and our group discussed the possibility to use weather forecasting to better monitor and predict the temporal change of water resources.
