The 10th Prediction Science Seminar was held on September 15th, 2022 (Thursday) and was delivered by Prof. Takashi Okada of Kyoto university. The seminar's topic is predicting spatial infection spreading dynamics of viruses from genomic data. First, Prof. Okada introduced the model describing the infection dynamics based on a Markov model. The model gives a network of infection from people to themselves. Then, he validated the model. As a result, long-range migrations and the correlation of geographic distance with the strength of migrations are detected.
